GDP growth in 2008 to reach 5 % in Kazakhstan - Ministry of Economics
Astana. February 12. Kazakhstan Today - In Kazakhstan GDP growth in 2008 is forecasted to reach the level of 5 %. The Minister of Economics Bakhyt Sultanov said today at the Ministry of Economics and Budgetary Planning.
"Considering existing forecasted tendencies and conditions influencing macroeconomic development of Kazakhstan, in 2008, real GDP growth is estimated at the level of 5 %," the minister said.
He reminded that last year GDP growth made 8.5 %. Thus, B. Sultanov emphasized that manufacture has grown in all segments of real sector.
Growth of production volumes in manufacturing industry made 6.7 %, having left behind growth in mining industry, which has developed at the rate of 2.6 %. Volume of gross agricultural production has grown by 8.4 %.
