Astana. February 12. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan -American initiative of state-private partnership, which will start in spring of 2008, "should give new impulse to trade and economic cooperation. The State Secretary of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev informed at the meeting with the Assistant to the US Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Richard Boucher, the agency reports referring to the president's press service. According to the press service, the parties noted that cooperation of Kazakhstan and the USA in such spheres as non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and disarmament, energy, trade and investments, and the dialogue, concerning development of democracy and civil society are the strong basis for further expansion of partnership. The USA, possessing high scientific and technological potential, could become one of the key partners in realization of the initiative of the leader of the state Intellectual Nation - 2020. "The important component of the forthcoming cooperation will be preparation for effective presidency of Kazakhstan in OSCE in 2010 and realization of the special program - Way to Europe, formulated by the leader of the state in the Annual Message to the people of Kazakhstan on February 6," the message states.
