Minister of Industry and Commerce appointed
Astana. February 20. Kazakhstan Today - Vladimir Shkolnik has been appointed the Minister of Industry and Commerce by the decree of the leader of the state of the Republic of Kazakhstan and dismissed from the post of vice chairman of the president's administration of Kazakhstan, the agency reports referring to the president's press service.
According to the press service, Galym Orazbakov has been dismissed from the post of the Minister of Industry and Commerce of Kazakhstan by the decree of the leader of the state.
Vladimir Shkolnik was born in 1949. He graduated from Moscow Engineering-Physics Institute, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor.
He started his carrier in 1966 at the Serpukhov Radio Factory as a traffic controller of radio equipment. After graduation from the Institute he worked at Mangyshlak Energy Industrial Plant as an engineer-physicist. Later he became vice chairman of the laboratory, the chief engineer and deputy director.
In August, 1992 he was appointed General Director of the Agency for atomic engineering of Kazakhstan. Since August 1994 - the Minister of Science and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In March, 1996 after reorganization of the ministry he was appointed the Minister of Science and the President of the Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan.
In January, 1999, after the next reorganization of the ministry, he was appointed the Minister of Science and Education. In this position he worked till October, 1999. Since October 1999 - December 13, 2000 - he was the Minister of Energy, Industry and Commerce.
Since December 13 2000 - January 29, 2002 - he was vice prime minister of Kazakhstan, in combination till January 19, 2006 he was the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources. Since January 2006 till January, 2007 - the Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Since January 12, 2007 - vice chairman of the president's administration of Kazakhstan.
