Special representative for Caspian Sea resources appointed
Astana. February 22. Kazakhstan Today - The special representative of Kazakhstan for the use of the Caspian Sea resources has been appointed, the agency reports referring to the president's press service.
According to the press service, Balgimbayev Nurlan Utebovich, the adviser of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has been appointed the special representative of Kazakhstan for the use of the Caspian Sea resources by the decree of the leader of the state.
N. Balgimbayev was born in 1947. He graduated from the Kazakh Polytechnical Institute in 1973. In 1973 - 1986 he worked in oil branch of the Republic. Later, within six years, he was vice chairman of some central administrative boards of the Ministry of Oil and Gas industry in Moscow.
In 1992 - 1994 he studied in Massachusetts University in Boston (USA) and had internship and worked in Shevron company. He was appointed the Minister of Oil and Gas industry of the Republic, the chairman of the national oil-and-gas company Kazakhoil. From October, 1997 - October, 1999 he held the post of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan. Since April 2002 - the chairman of Kazakh oil investment company. The last post that he held was the president's adviser.
