Environment Protection Ministry to require Arcelor Mittal to increase efficiency of nature protection measures
Astana. February 28. Kazakhstan Today - The Ministry of Environment Protection of Kazakhstan requested Arcelor Mittal Temirtau to increase efficiency of nature protection measures, the Ministry of Environment Protection press service informed the agency.
According to the press service, on February 26, 2008, the Minister of Environment Protection of Kazakhstan Nurlan Iskakov held the meeting with the management of Arcelor Mittal Temirtau concerning issuing the sanction for emission to the environment for this year.
For a number of years the enterprise has not been solving the issues of effective decrease in emissions of polluting substances and negative influence of the activity Arcelor Mittal Temirtau Company on the environment, the message states.
"Following the results of the meeting with Arcelor Mittal Temirtau, the date for revision of contract-financial opportunities and increases of efficiency of nature protection measures has been defined," the press release informed.
