Kazakhstan temir zholy to raise tariffs by 8.9 % since April 1

Almaty. March 3. Kazakhstan Today - The National Company Kazakhstan temir zholy will increase tariffs by 8.9 % for services of the main railway network since April 1, the agency reports referring to the message published in the official press on Saturday. The message underlines that the tariffs for services of main railway will increase according to the decree of the Agency of Kazakhstan on regulation of natural monopolies of February 21, 2008 on the services of the main railway network of transportations of cargoes (except for transportations of coal, grain in the republican (interregional), and also container, contrailer transportations in international (export-import) railway communication) railway transportation by 8.9 % since April, 1, 2008. As it was informed earlier, in January, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov stated that the government is ready to support increase of tariffs for rail transportation. "We are ready to reconsider the tariff policy. The government is ready to support development of railway infrastructure," the Prime Minister emphasized. "But you should take the guarantee obligation regarding the results, so that we precisely could tell how many carriages will be bought and that grain and mineral oil will be exported on time," K. Masimov said, addressing the management of Kazakhstan temir zholy.
