Astana. March 11. Kazakhstan Today - In 2008 growth of tariffs for electric power is predicted to be at the level of 15.7 %. The Chairman of the Agency for regulation of natural monopolies Nurlan Aldabergenov informed today during the government session.
"Maximum increase of average cost of electric power this year is predicted at the level of 15.7 %," N. Aldabergenov said.
"Thus, the cost of electric power produced at large stations and regional thermal power stations will change in the range from 3 up to 13 %. The cost of electric power for consumers of the southern regions will change in the range from 6 up to 17 %, in the northern regions - from 2 up to 10 %," he explained.
This maximum increase of the cost of central heating by the forecast of the Agency of for regulation of natural monopolies will be at the level of 9.8 %, thus, according to the chairman of the agency, the increase of cost of thermal energy at some enterprises will change within the limits of 4 - 8 %.
Maximum parameters of growth of tariffs this year, in N. Aldabergenov's opinion, will allow establishing maximum growth of contribution to inflation of a fraction of services at the rate of 1.5 %. "Thus, 1.02 % is a fraction of increase only due to rise in price of the cost of gas up to $85 since June, 1, 2008 in the southern regions, as well as for Kostanay and the Western Kazakhstan oblasts. The other fraction is variations of the cost of services for water supply, heat supply and electric supply in the others region with the general contribution of 0.48 % of inflation," the Chairman of the Agency for regulation of natural monopolies explained.
