Kazakhstan Today - The chairman of the National Company KazMunayGas Uzakbay Karabalin does not exclude that the increase in cost of transported by Gazprom Central Asian gas through the territory of Kazakhstan will lead to increase of tariff for transportation. U. Karabalin said today at the press conference on Thursday, the agency reports. U. Karabalin reminded that on March 11, 2008 during the meeting of the chairmen of Gazprom, KazMunayGas, Uzbek Oil and Gas and Turkmen Gas in Moscow the parties made the joint statement on achievement of the arrangement concerning sale of gas to Gazprom of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan gas at the European price since January 1, 2009. The chairman of the National Company KazMunayGas emphasized that the arrangement on sale of gas at the European price since January 1, 2009 is "the basic arrangement." He informed that the details, including the concrete price of gas, were not discussed. "The parties discussed the ideology of preparation of pricing, concrete numbers that should be accepted at the negotiations of the experts of our companies," he explained.
