Reason for emergency situation in Kostenko mine was oxidizing process with subsequent self-ignition of coal - experts

Karaganda. March 18. Kazakhstan Today - The experts consider that the reason for the emergency situation in Kostenko mine of the coal department of Arcelor Mittal Temirtau Company was oxidizing process with the subsequent self-ignition of coal. The commander of the rescue group Komir of the Ministry of Emergency of Kazakhstan Vyacheslav Petrishchev informed the correspondent of the agency. According to the rescuers, it is the preliminary version. The commission on investigation of the reasons of the accident continues its work. "The works of technical character are being carried out on the emergency site," V. Petrishchev informed. Coal mining in the mine has resumed. As it was informed earlier, there was smoke blanketing in the morning of March 15 in the southern ventilating drift in Kostenko mine. 136 people, who were under ground at that moment, were evacuated. There are no victims. 56 people and 10 units of technical equipment, including rescue service Komir: 25 people and 6 units of technical equipment of the Ministry of Emergency of Kazakhstan, are involved in liquidation of the emergency situation.
