Kazakhstan considers cooperation with Azerbaijan in oil, transport and power spheres as priority

The Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Azerbaijan Serik Primbetov informed at the press conference in Baku on Tuesday, the agency reports.
"Priorities, I think, are cooperation with Azerbaijan in oil, transport and energy spheres. It is necessary to strive for increase of mutual commodity turnover that now makes about $350 million. The main part is the import of the Kazakhstan goods to Azerbaijan - about $200 - 222 million, and nearly $128 million - Azerbaijan export to Kazakhstan," S. Primbetov informed.
"The leaders of our states set the task to increase commodity turnover up to $1 bln.
As for the plans of Kazakhstan for increase of import of grain by sea Aktau - Baku, S. Primbetov noted that increase of import will be assisted by review of tariff policy of the Caspian marine shipping company (Caspar).
Concerning the question of transportation of the Kazakhstan oil through the pipeline Baku - Tbilisi - Ceyhan, S. Primbetov noted that "it mainly depends on the terms and volumes of oil extraction from Kashagan deposit and from the size of tariffs for transit of oil."
The Ambassador informed that this year the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev will visit Azerbaijan to participate in the summit of the leaders of Turkic states.
Making comments on neutral position of Kazakhstan at the recent voting in the UN General Assembly on the draft resolution proposed by Azerbaijan regarding Nagorny Karabah, the diplomat noted that it should not damage the relationships with Azerbaijan.
