Kazakhstan to insist on necessity of creation of hydro-power consortium in Central Asian region
Astana. March 20. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan will insist on necessity of creation of hydro-power consortium in the Central Asian region. Vice Prime Minister Umirzak Shukeev stated today at the plenary session, the agency reports.
"We will continue to convince our partners in Central Asia of necessity of hydro-power consortium," U. Shukeev said.
He reminded that "since 2006 within the limits of EurAsEC the work on coordination of positions of the Central Asian countries on use of hydro-power resources of the pools of the rivers Syr-Darya and Amu Darya has been carried out.
"However, the parties have not coordinated even the project of the concept of hydro-power consortium. In this context, the decision of the interstate EurAsEC council has been entrusted to continue the work on the project of the concept with attraction of the international independent experts," U.
