Long-term state price policy in energy sector to be developed - Samruk chairman

Astana. March 21. Kazakhstan Today - The chairman of the Kazakhstan Holding for Management of State Assets Samruk Kanat Bozumbayev suggests developing state long-term price policy in energy sector to stimulate introduction of energy saving technologies. The chairman informed today during the scientific-practical conference Politics of Energy Economy in Kazakhstan, the agency reports. "The government needs to develop state long-term price policy in energy sector of economy, ensuring investment appeal of electro power industry as today's prices provide opportunities neither for development of enterprises of power industry, nor for application of energy saving technologies," K. Bozumbayev said. "The state body, the agency or the committee responsible for performance of processes of energy economy should be defined," Samruk chairman considers. "The mechanisms stimulating economy of electric power and investment in energy efficiency should be defined. New normative-technical documentation, rules and standards in construction, technology and equipment should be prepared." Samruk chairman considers necessary "to develop market mechanisms stimulating application of renewable sources." "Creation of the specialized fund of energy saving should be considered," K. Bozumbayev said.
