900 billion KZT to be allocated for modernization of railway infrastructure till 2012 - Transport Ministry
Atyrau. March 28. Kazakhstan Today - Nearly 900 billion KZT will be allocated for modernization of railway infrastructure till 2012. The Minister of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan Serik Ahmetov informed on Thursday at the meeting in Atyrau, the agency reports.
"The Ministry along with the state bodies, holding Samruk and the company Kazakhstan temir zholy has developed and approved a complex of measures on development and modernization of railway branch till 2012, which will allow involving additional investments into the industry," the Minister of Transport informed.
"According to the Transport Strategy, 12 projects are planned to be realized till 2015 in the railway industry, 9 of which - on concessional basis. 1715 kilometers of new railroads for the sum of about 433 billion KZTwill be constructed. 2185 kilometers of railways for the sum of more than 130 billion KZT will be electrified", S. Ahmetov specified.
