Kazakhstan Today - The Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan plans next week to send a number of bills on introduction of toll highways to the Parliament's consideration. The Minister of Transport and Communications Serik Ahmetov said at the meeting in Atyrau on Thursday, the agency reports. Payment is provided only on the busiest sites of the roads requiring reconstruction of high level. They will correspond to the 1st category, will have minimum 4 lines, and will meet such requirements as safety, comfort, reduction of trip time," the Minister of Transport and Communications emphasized. S. Ahmetov informed that in the near future highways Astana - Borovoy, Astana - Karaganda, Almaty - Kapshagay, Almaty - Horgos and the Big Almaty Circle Road will be constructed and reconstructed on concessional basis, which will later become toll roads.
