March gold and exchange currency reserves of Kazakhstan increased by 1.8 %

Almaty. April 3. Kazakhstan Today - The international reserves of the country as a whole (in current prices), including the money of the National fund (by preliminary data $23 122.4 million), have grown by 1.8 % and have made $42 386.9 million, the agency reports referring to the message of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Decrease in net internal assets of the National Bank in March, 2008 has caused insignificant reduction of monetary base by 0.04 % (or by 606.1 million KZT). Purchase of currency operations in the internal currency market, receipt of currency on the government accounts in the National Bank have been partially neutralized by operations on external debt service of the government and decrease in the rests in the correspondent accounts of the banks of the second level in foreign currency in the National Bank. As a result, net foreign currency reserves (hard currency) increased by $300.4 million, assets in gold have decreased by $78.5 million as a result of reduction of its price in the world markets by 3.3 %. In the current prices net international reserves of the National Bank have grown by 1.2 % (or by $221.9 million).
