We Will Build a New World The Astana economic forum can rightly be considered the biggest event of economic topic for Kazakhstan and, perhaps, not only for our country. The scale of problems, announced in the past three years existing in this discussion area, bears a truly global character – from the idea of Eurasian integration to the introduction of a new world currency. The President of Kazakhstan, as it is essential for the National Leader, presented new initiatives of a global level while in their presentations the foreign experts raised the topics, of first importance for Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan and Germany: On Reciprocal Tracks 2010 is marked as the Year of Germany in Kazakhstan. In the framework of this, the Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel paid her official visit to our country for the first time in the mid of July. The investment memorandums, signed during her visit, brought the economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Germany to a qualitatively new level. In this concern, The Kazakhstan magazine addressed the ambassadors of the two states with the questions on problems and prospects of development of bilateral relations Innovative Economy. Expert Recommendations One of the important events under the 3rd Astana economic forum was the Innovative Congress on the "Model of a Well-Organized and Effectively Functioning National Innovation System – the Foundation for Economic Growth in Post-Recession Development". It was attended by the managers of a number of international companies, involved in promotion of high technologies and representing such countries as Finland, Norway, Germany, South Korea, France and Israel. They shared the experience of developing national innovative economies and gave recommendations on running the innovative policy in Kazakhstan and the countries of Central Asia. We present the readers of Kazakhstan magazine with the most interesting, from our point of view, opinions of experts – the congress speakers on the three questions… President Assigned to Double Production In 2010 the development problems of the mining and smelting sector (MSS) of Kazakhstan became the target of careful attention of the government, investors and experts. The subjects, following each other, industrial forums and conferences prove that the situation in domestic MSS will change dramatically. This was also confirmed by the results of "Astana Minerals & Metallurgy 2010" first Kazakhstani international congress on mineral resources and metallurgy that took place in Astana on the eve of metallurgists’ professional holiday. The fact that it was personally opened by President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev added political weight to the new event.
