USA energy policy not to be concentrated on reduction of oil prices - USA Ambassador to Kazakhstan
Almaty. November 6. Kazakhstan Today - The USA energy policy will not be concentrated on reduction of oil prices. The Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of the USA to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Richard Haugland, informed today at the press conference, the agency reports.
"I am absolutely sure that the energy policy of the newly elected President, Barack Obama, will not be exclusively concentrated on reduction of oil price, as no American President or a person in the world can do it," R. Haugland said.
"The oil price depends on a set of factors, including supply and demand and, certainly, the international economic conditions," the USA Ambassador emphasized.
"When a newly elected President says that he would like to see cheaper prices for gasoline in the United States, he assumes a lot of various measures that need to be undertaken during a long period of time, such as state stimulation and development of new alternative energy sources, in particular wind and solar energy," R. Haugland considers.
"If volume of alternative energy is increased, demand for oil will decrease and thus, oil prices will decrease.
