Russia ratified Russian-Kazakhstan Caspian sea division agreement
Moscow. March 11. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed the federal law ratifying the Russian-Kazakhstan agreement on division of the northern part of the Caspian Sea, the President of Russia press-service informed the agency.
The full name of the Federal law - on ratification of the Protocol on amendments' introduction to the Protocol of the Agreement between the Russian Federation and Republic Kazakhstan about division of the northern part of the Caspian Sea to realize sovereign rights on subsoil use from July 6, 1998.
The federal law was adopted by the State Duma on February 7, 2007 and approved by the Federation Council on February 21, 2007.
According to the Russian president's press service explanatory note, the purpose of the protocol is bringing legal regime of development of geological structure Central and the deposit Hvalynskoe in conformity with the legal regime already operating in relation to geological Kurmangazy structure.
