Kazakhstan to protect interests of domestic manufacturers after accession to Customs Union

ASTANA. October 23. KAZINFORM /Rassul Bakhamov/ "The interests of the domestic producers will be protected even after Kazakhstan joins the Customs Union with Russia and Belarus", Vice Minister of Industry and Trade Zhanar Aitzhanova said Thursday in Astana. According to the experts, the entry to the integration unions affects exporting enterprises. In this regard the competition ability of domestic producers can become a week point in the issue of the Customs Union accession. As the Vice Minister noted, Kazakhstan will enter the common customs area with Russia and Belarus. In this regard one of the main tasks is to support the Kazakh manufacturers. Z.Aitzhanova noted that the Government pays much attention to the investment climate in Kazakhstan and the protection of the domestic manufacturers as well. In accordance with the Kazakh legislation, the investment preferences are distributed in the form of import customs duties exemption now. "This mechanism will function within the Customs Union as well. This is how we take into account the interests of our domestic manufacturers. All three states of the Customs Union will have a right to use this mechanism", Z.Aitzhanova said.
