ROME. November 5. KAZINFORM /Yernur Akanbay/ Production of oil at Kashagan oil field will start in 2012 - Chairman of Eni Company Paolo Scaroni has informed following a meeting with N. Nazarbayev in Rome today. "That was a quite important meeting for us. First of all we focused on work of Eni at Kashagan deposirt. The first oil will be produced in 2012", Scaroni noted. According to him issues of interaction of Eni Concern with local executive bodies and Karachaganak project were discussed. "We are getting ready for a new stage of exploration of this deposit", Scaroni said. The parties also considered a number of projects between KazMunaiGaz NC and Eni regarding oil and gas exploration and the projects of industrial infrastructure in Kazakhstan. "This is a strategically important agreement. On one hand it is connected with usage of Kazakhstan gas, on the other hand we plan to supply electric power, fertilizers and energy products", he said.
