Italy's Eni invests in creation of infrastructure at Karachaganak oil deposit
ROME. November 5. KAZINFORM /Yernur Akanbay/ Italian Concern Eni intends to invest significant funds for creation of infrastructure at Karachaganak oil field and development of oil processing sector in Kazakhstan, Head of the State Nursultan Nazarbayev has said after the talks with Italian President Giorgio Napolitano in Rome Nov 5.
"Cooperation in energy sector is a foremost direction of course. Eni will operate at Karachaganak, one of the largest oil fields in the world with 5 mln tons oil reserve. Today we also considered Eni's investments in creation of infrastructure and development of Kazakhstan's oil processing sector", he noted.
Good paces of bilateral coop development are observed in metallurgy, construction and agriculture. "1 mln ton of high quality Kazakhstan wheat are supplied to the Italian market. In my opinion, it is a good resource for our future cooperation", he noted.
The Head of the State also emphasized "huge potential for the development of the Kazakh-Italian cooperation in high technologies". "About 20 agreements are expected to be signed within my visit to Italy", the President stressed.
