Kazakhstan President suggested devoting 2008 to development of transit-transport potential of CIS
Astana. October 8. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev at the session of the Council of the CIS leaders proposed to devote 2008 to development of transit-transport potential of the Commonwealth on Friday, the agency reports referring to the president's press service.
According to the press service, the leader of the state noted the necessity of creation of the working group at the level of vice ministers of transport on development of specific proposals in the field of development of transit-transport potential of the Commonwealth and to consider the results of their work at the next session CIS Council of the leaders of the states.
Realization of these and other aspects of cooperation by the CIS countries in transport-transit sphere will speed up mutual exchange of goods, promote decrease in transport prices due to decrease in production cost, and will raise competitiveness of the Eurasian region as a whole," N. Nazarbayev emphasized.
By N. Nazarbayev initiative, the leaders of the states agreed on development of the Regulations on presidency in the Council of the leaders of the CIS states, establishment of the institute of national coordinators, purposeful work according to the formula - one year - one subject.
"The items of the Plan on development of Agreement on the status of the documents accepted within the CIS, and Regulations on the order of organization of monitoring of realization of decisions of the bodies of the Commonwealth have great importance," the leader of Kazakhstan said.
The President emphasized that these issues are not limited to the national frameworks, but are considered at the international level. Separate attempts of the states on creation of conditions for legal work of migrants, naturally, do not bring big results for all Commonwealth.
"Labor migration should be controlled, considering interests of both host countries, the countries-donors, the interests of employers and migrants. Such regulation assumes creation of the interstate databank on a supply and demand of labor," N. Nazarbayev concluded.
